I'm going with the default setting of "yes" to Bathurst at the moment although I haven't officially sorted out what is happening around that time, what Merrilyn is doing etc.

That's pretty crappy! I've had a few Jaycar DMMs. One that I've had forever (had to repair it once but turned out to be an easy fix). I opened it up and found that a solder connection had failed where the board connected to the probes.

Ever notice how everything in audio (except maybe a CD player) is either bigger or smaller than expected? Especially when it's PSE-144 ... and that goes both ways. Showed it to two people in the last 2 days, one said bigger, one said smaller. Are…

A horn sub in the door = no longer a door that people can walk through!

A MORT (short for man sized port)

Terry and I have been talking about putting on a PSE-144 demo at Bathurst, either as part of the GTG or an extra mini event around the same time. I'm also thinking it's a good time to line up some NSW consulting jobs. Maybe a mini Bathurst audio sho…

Now I'm feeling left out! Only zap I've had was in high school in science class. We all had to hold hands like in a seance then someone wound a wheel on a mini generator. It was a weird sensation like little strings pulling through your veins.

The crossover is actually not yet finished! There has only been one listening session and even Roger and it was actually the first chance I've had myself to listen to it. I've got a fairly large batch of pre orders to fulfill and it will take a few …

Congrats on the sale Mal. Now I'm curious who bought, anyone we know?

There is no amount of deadness in their appearance that means victory! If it has anything green on it, no chance. Even if it's just a detached stump of yucca with no roots. In that case you have a zombie yucca. Expect to see green leaves appearing w…

Personally I like Yuccas and I have a handfull of different ones. You can cut off a trunk, leave it on the ground sitting there, through a heatwave and some time after you'll see leaves sprouting and eventually it will throw roots down. It only take…

Any brace in a speaker can act as a helmholz resonator and start to mess up the frequency response. Yes, it matters! You have to be careful that your box bracing does not resemble a helmholz resonator. In a sub box you don't worry - it's all about s…

With a sub we want to achieve maximum stiffness (for best performance) without making it too heavy (pragmatic). Box fill serves to lower the Q of a sealed box, which this is not as John pointed out. It's a way to put a driver into a slightly undersi…

Hmmmm ... I didn't think it was that much. Roger and I were able to move mine without much trouble. Admittedly only about 6 metres from the workshop, then a day of moving the bugger into place and digging sand out of the way! I also used crappy c…

Looks very cool!

I'd be interested to see how those turned out in the flesh sometime, it's been ages!
