A new find...
A while back I came across some stuff that one of the blokes behind Afro Celt Sound System and The Imagined Village had done for a UK chain of day spas. It was a set of four CD/DVDs with each album being full of music (mostly modern English folk with a brush of electronica) designed to accompany one of their 'treatments'. But they stood on their own as easy but interesting listening especially given that they were all collaborations with The Sound Approach which is a mob (owned/managed by the day spa owner) given to collecting bird calls...
Anyway...there's two more. One is a soundscape styled exercise (The Sound Bath) while the other is a covers album (The Conmforter?). Wildly different yet weirdly complimentary. I reckon the former is more successful with it's folky trance approach simply because the covers album is full of recognisable sunny pop standards which can sound a little odd simply because they are so familiar despite the fact they are done rather well...

Some of the other stuff on this label is pretty killer - Jackie Oates voice is quite special

Here's another project I've been waiting for...The Gloaming. Irish folk delivered by a mob of talented Irish and American muso's with long musical histories
It's a self titled album and a Real World release so shouldn't be hard to find https://realworldrecords.com/release/621/the-gloaming/
