New festool dust extractor
In the category of "why did nobody ever think of that before", Festool has a new dust extractor that looks just like a couple of systainers:

We need a new dustie as the current one (an old GMC thing into a modified wheelie bin) has done enough after a decade to realise it's effective but useless. It takes in the big fluffy stuff but lets the fine particulate stuff (the bits that kill you) go.
Time for a proper one with a pleated filter...
Buy a carbatec upright for not much money.
My 2nd hand unit works brilliantly, with a 3m hose

or this

I need to buy one of these

and one of these
https://www.carbatec.com.au/machinery-and-accessories/bandsaws-and-accessories/bandsaws/14-bandsaw-two-speed-see-bas-350c
or maybe this instead

I just bought one of these http://www.ledamachinery.com.au/index.php/dust-extractors/leda-ct-106-dust-extractor-detail along with a pleated filter cartridge to replace the top bag...this removes even finer dust particles but adds $220 to the price tag.
Might be in town by tomorrow. I'm going to use the current wheelie bin as a separator between the tool and the dustie
Pricey bugger Seano
True but watching someone you quite like expire due to dust inhalation will do that to you...
Agree. Safety is never too expensive.
It's a big sucker but it will also pull your face off! I'm running it through my wheelie bin separator so I don't need too many bags.
Crikey.
I like the STOP lever on your saw.
that's the stop lever that fly's off at the nearest brush...but you can hit I with your knee...which is the idea. Didn't help much when the saw ate me but then that was thine own fault!
