CNC
Hey Guys (yeah, I know its been a while since I posted anything ), anybody have any ideas on where I could/should have some fairly sizeable front baffles CNC's out of 18mm MDF?
Comments
The short answer is no. But I did talk to a local kitchen place awhile ago and they seemed keen or at least willing to do jobs out of the norm for them. Wardrobe places might be another one to try, the kind that do custom doors and the like.
What are you making?
It's only pie-in-the-sky ATM, but I wanna build a CNC router
hey John, I am thinking its time to build myself a set of line arrays, I just don't have the set up for all that woodwork at my place (or desire really ).
Which? If you have plans, maybe try taking a printout to a couple of places like I mentioned and see what they say? I'd be interested to know.
Here's another idea:

Includes flatpak, AFAIC. Shipping would be a bomb but probably not much more than getting cabinets made.

Oh, you need an active crossover... Perfect! Maybe one day I'll just give up in frustration and get one of these.
Graham, yeah right?! Would it happen quicker if we camped outside your front door with all of our speaker plans...
Ye of little faith.
Actually John, I was thinking a pair of these (now, how do I add photos)! (nope, cant seem to do it, but they are) the LS-9's
You click on the mountain link to upload them directly, or the picture link to paste a URL.
Hey the shipping isn't too bad on those CBT arrays - US $213.
Here's the manual: http://www.parts-express.com/pedocs/manuals/301-980-audio-artistry-inc-cbt36k-manual-9148.pdf
I lurv that CBT kit
What a fantastic project
Oh, to have endless time and money available
lets see if this works then...
and its been on wish list for years, it will be this or i'll have to wait for the next things that pump my nads

hahahahahahahaha, looks like it didn't (well, on my screen anyway )
Nice choice Oz
Seems reasonable $ for all parts & plans.
You have to paste the link to the image not the webpage
e.g. right click on the image and select "Get Image URL" (or something similar).
Even then it might not work because some sites don't like remote embedding.
Let's see...
If you build those, I hope you live on the ground floor
haha, I do live on the first floor actually
And GeeEmm, its a bit more than that these days, with inflation, the US dollar conversion, and freight, but even so, if they do me for the next 50 years, then its still a bargain
I quoted US price from Danny Richie, 21-1-2014 from you link

Oz dollar is high AtM. Get kits shipped by see. More time, but less $.
You know you want to :-b
yeah, these days they are $3400, still far from terrible value though!
Sea might be good idea though
It's only money Todd. X_X
They went up from $2700 to $3400 in five months? Geez Louise. Who is Louise anyway? I wonder if she has a CNC router.
No, but can see where daddy hit her with the axe!
apparently so John, has to do with the price of copper and neodymium (or something like that)
