Finishing before gluing

Hey expert woodworkers, is there any reason you can't put at least some coats of finish on panels before gluing?

I stained all my panels prior to glueing my econowaves, which was much easier & saved a shit load of time. I also stained front baffle prior to routing holes, then stained rebates after routing

2 things you may want to consider

• Dont paint/seal surfaces/edges that rely on being glued/sealed
• Do your final seal after assembly

What he said...given that fussy finishing is no fun then I wouldn't bother doing it until the project was glued up.
