You get a free dinner next time you come over! :D Actually I think that wall has been worked on by an amateur (another one) since the tiles were first installed as the other walls look a lot better. I'm struggling to account for the floor tiles though, some of them are several mm higher than others.

  • A very good effort for a beginner. You lose a couple of points for not quite getting tiles on straight.

    Next time, fit a temporary cleat to the wall with the top of the cleat about one tile (or slightly less) high off the floor and perfectly level. Then fit tiles above this cleat and use tile crosses to keep them straight and square. Once they are all in then you remove the cleat and fit the bottom row of tiles...then grout as you have done.
